U-PAC: This is the UEA's political action committee. Its purpose is to pursue the legislative goals of the UEA and to further the interests of its membership through support of candidates for elective office and involvement with the major political parties. U-PAC emphasizes a bi-partisan approach to political action focusing on issues affecting children and public education as the basis for all candidate support and other political activities. Membership in U-PAC is optional and relies on voluntary contributions from the UEA's membership and others who choose to contribute on a monthly, yearly, or one-time basis.

L-PAC: This is the local association's political action committee, and functions similarly to and in conjunction with U-PAC. L-PACs support education-friendly candidates for elective office that represent constituents residing within the local association's school district boundaries including candidates for local school boards. As with U-PAC, contributions to L-PAC are optional and do not constitute a condition for membership in the local association or UEA.

NEA-FCPE : The National Education Association Fund for Children and Public Education (NEA-FCPE) collects voluntary contributions from Association members and uses those contributions for political purposes, including, but not limited to, making contributions to and expenditures on behalf of friends of public education who are candidates for federal office. Contributions to the NEA-FCPE are voluntary; making a contribution neither a condition of employment nor membership in the Association, and members have the right to refuse to contribute without suffering any reprisal.

Capitol Club: This is a select group of educators who have recognized the importance of being involved both politically and financially. Capitol Club members voluntarily choose to contribute $100 or more each year to support the efforts of U-PAC and their local PAC. These members receive an exclusive "Capitol Club" lapel pin plus invitations to special legislative briefings, receptions and other activities.

Contributions to U-PAC and L-PAC are not deductible
for federal income tax purposes.
