UEA Celebrates 100 Years!

Join us at Thursday’s Opening Session as we kick off our year-long celebration

Join fellow educators at this year’s opening session, Thursday, October 1 at 9:30 a.m., as local and national presenters examine the past, present and future of UEA and the teaching profession. Come reminisce with former UEA presidents and executive directors. This promises to be a fun celebration.

Amanda Dickson, author of “Wake Up to a Happier You” and co-host of #1 rated KSL Radio’s “Utah’s Morning News,” hosts the UEA Convention. Her boundless energy, infectious laugh and passion for life have made her one of Utah’s most popular personalities.

Pam Perlich, Ph.D. PRESENT:

Pamela Perlich, Ph.D., senior research economist in the Bureau of Economic and Business Research at the University of Utah, will explore the current status of Utah public education through demographic statistics.

Former educators and UEA members will reflect on the Association’s roots in Utah public education and its century-long tradition of advocacy and support for teachers and students.

Lily Eskelsen, NEA Vice President FUTURE:

Lily Eskelsen, vice president of the National Education Association and former UEA president and Utah elementary school teacher, will share her perspective as one of the highest-ranking labor leaders in the country on the outlook for the teaching profession and public education.
