We encourage you to invite emerging leaders, bargaining team members, board members, ARs, etc. to attend on June 9. Presidents, president-elect, vice presidents, please plan on staying both days.
On Monday, June 9, the Leadership Academy will offer five content tracks. All participants need to pre-register for their track. The online registration form will ask for your first and second choice. The track choices are

- Talk about our issues in a way that resonates with the public.
- Respond to the media the message box.
- Find out about ways to inform and engage members.
- Membership How To:
- Build a systematic approach to membership recruitment.
- Focus on building relationships and engaging members.
- Integrate membership into all aspects of association work.
- Political Action How To:
- Build the connection between politics and the classroom.
- Use the momentum and data from the past year to move our pro-public education agenda.
- Bargaining for Salaries, Benefits and Rights Learn About:
- The new Health Savings Accounts and the health insurance crunch.
- Bargaining models and how to determine the best one for your local.
- Implications of recent legislation on teacher rights and the bargaining process.
- New Presidents Track How To:
- Move beyond survival mode through advance planning and delegating.
- Empower your AR's and board members.
- Build local capacity.
Tuesday, June 9, we will cover topics like engaging leaders in discussions about critical issues such as differentiated compensation, competing organizations and pro-active legislation. We will bring you up-to-date on these and more critical issues as well as creating our action plan.
