In my nearly thirty years of Association experience, I have had the opportunity to observe, learn from, and work with some incredible colleagues. Throughout my leadership experience, I have found that our Association unifies us with our desire to work together in compassionate service. Each of our personal stories share common values and themes of caring for others. Working together, from members’ stories and input, the UEA Futurist Committee created our current strategic plan. Working together, from our members’ input, NEA adopted our Vision, Mission, and Core Values at the 2006 Representative Assembly. Working together, the Education Coalition, UEA, and NEA helped ensure strong public schools by defeating Referendum 1. We are working currently, from members’ input, on positive changes in reauthorization of ESEA/NCLB. I am passionate about our work as educators. Collectively, we know what works for America’s youth. With your support, I will dedicate myself to representing you.
