How Your UEA Dues Are Spent

What UEA Does For You

UniServ & Local Association Programs (49.7%): UEA dues returned to support direct member services through the forty-one local education associations statewide.

Program Services & Administration (33.3%): The UEA organization is staffed with experts in employee law, bargaining, public relations, legislative lobbying, research, member advocacy, teaching and learning, and associate staff support services.

Building Operations (5.9%): Pays for the operation of the UEA Headquarters, including equipment, maintaining meeting and office space, printing, and postage for member publications.

Strategic Goals I-IV (4.8%): Supports the strategic goals of the Associatioin, including: building a strong statewide network of effective local associations through membership and leadership development; ensuring a quality school for every student through legislative action, the campaign for increased school funding, community outreach, and events like Read Across America; and protecting the rights of educators through legal services and bargaining.

Governance, Meetings & Convention (6.3%): Supports the UEA President, Vice President, and UEA Board of Directors in setting policy and guiding the organization; paid for Association leadership meetings, including the House of Delegates, Council of Local Presidents, Leadership School, various committees, and professional development opportunities like the UEA Convention.

UEA represents over 18,000 educators in forty-one districts and vocational centers. Equal payments through monthly payroll deductions ensure that you support your professional organization which promotes the profession, strengthens public schools, and protects the professional rights of educators.
