In 1997, the Utah Education Association joined with the Utah PTA and KUED-Channel 7 in nominating and honoring outstanding public education volunteers. These award recipients are recognized during KUED's annual “Golden Apple Awards” broadcast.
Six educators and two volunteers will be chosen during the 2008 judging. As in the past, the Utah PTA will accept nominations for outstanding educators. Both the UEA and the Utah PTA will collect nominations for outstanding volunteers through February 22, 2008. Volunteer winners receive a $1,000 cash award.
Click here for an official nomination form for the school volunteer “Golden Apple Award.” Please feel free to make copies of the form and distribute it to interested employees at your school. Please post your copy on the bulletin board in your school faculty room.
All “Golden Apple Award” nomination forms must be submitted no later than February 22, 2008. Forms postmarked after February 22nd will not be considered.
If you have questions, please call Mark Mickelsen, UEA director of communications and public relations, at 1-800-594-8996, or 266-4461 (ext. 101).
